Mental Health Day 2020

On the 10th October, the World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates Mental Health Day. It is estimated 10% of the world’s population have had a mental health disorder, most commonly ADHD or Anxiety.

The Coronavirus Pandemic has affected millions of people’s mental health by anxiety, depression and loneliness from Self Isolating. This year, World Health Day is making awareness of the Coronavirus pandemic’s effects on Mental Health.

This year, Young Minds want schools to encourage people to wear something yellow to raise awareness of Mental Health day #HelloYellow. They also expect schools to have a special assembly explaining Mental Health.

There are many mental health charities, including the NSPCC and YoungMinds. Personally, My friends and I are raising money to support a charity called ‘Helpful Hounds’ which help Children with Mental and Physical Health Problems.
