What is the US Election?
The US election is for people living in America to vote on who they want to be president of the country. This year Americans can vote for either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, whoever they think should be president.
How does the voting work?
Donald Trump and Joe Biden need to reach 270 Electoral Votes to win. Each different state in America has a different number of Electoral Votes for how big it is.
People's votes go to their state's wanted president and then the state will add on a number of Electoral Votes onto either Joe Biden or Donald Trump's number of Electoral Votes.
Joe Biden and Donald Trump have to advertise themselves and get as many of the bigger states as they can. The points are added up and the one with the most Electoral Votes wins.
Who is winning?
Currently, Joe Biden is winning with 253 Electoral Votes and Donald Trump has 214 Electoral Votes. They are trying to get to 270 to win.
However, People are predicting that Joe Biden has now won the election.
However, this could all change as some large states worth over 15 Electoral Votes are still being counted.
When will Joe Biden become president?
If Joe Biden wins the Election, he will later move into the White House on the 20th January and will become the official president.
Who is Kamala Harris?
Kamala Harris will be the first woman Vice President of America, with Joe Biden as President. She is also making history as the first black woman to become a Vice President!
